Dreaming of Redecorating

I would really like to update the furniture in my office. My desk is too small, my storage is from the Reject Shop and is starting to fall apart, and I am just not happy with how everything is at the moment, so I have been dreaming of the day when I have a bit of extra money so I can update everything. Here are a few of the things I've been looking at...

Ikea

I love this trestle desk from Ikea - it's bigger than my current desk and a lot nicer!
Ikea
I would also really like nicer storage, although this is quite pricey
Checks and Spots
Oh how I wish this chair was still available at Freedom Furniture - it is so beautiful!!

This garland is super pretty and would look nice on my wall
Ikea
I really like Ikea, OK?!
Howards Storage World
I would like a couple of these to place under my desk for extra storage
Ikea
A nice and simple lamp that would look a lot nicer than my current green one
Urban Outfitters
I think this rug would really tie the room together

So these are the things that I dream of putting into my office, and one day when I win the lotto I will buy them all!
Have a great day

Daily Instax March 12-25

It's time again for my recent daily instax photos, there are a few more of cats this time!

Peach loaf + jelly beans
Being watched by a cat (that you can't see) + recent PEZ purchases
Here's a close up of my neighbours cat - this is the one that lured Peach outside. She's 11 and super cute
Forcing Nathan (and his white legs) to clean his office + sleepy kitty
Watering plants with my (grown ups) elephant shaped watering can + a reflection taken in bed
Poor cone head Noah + trying to take a photo with said cone head
A beautiful sunny day with coney + rereading Harry Potter (this is my copy from when I was 12, it's falling apart!)
A contrast to the sunny day on the 22nd (taken around the same time of day!) + Noah figured out how to remove the cone!
So there you have it! More than half of these are cat photos, but who's gonna complain about that?
Have a good one

Our Wedding Day

I thought it was about time I share some of our wedding photos here and a bit more about Nathan and myself!

We met in 2009 on a dating website! We corresponded through emails for a bit and then eventually we decided to meet. On July 31st 2009 we met at a cafe in Parramatta and we got on so well that we we started dating two days afterwards and we've been together ever since. We both hate the same things, we make each other laugh, we are both massive nerds, and everyone tells us that we were just meant to be together, and I have to agree. I never thought I would find someone who is just so amazing, kind and generous, so when Nathan asked me to marry him I of course said yes!

We got married on July 21st 2012 at Belgenny Farm in Camden, it was freezing cold but we had the best day ever! I will only be sharing photos of Nathan and I, and my parents, as I am not sure my friends and family would like having their photos on a blog they don't know exists! My bridesmaid was my best friend Louise, we've been friends for 14 years! And Nathan's bestman was his friend Andrew - they were excellent choices as they were both so funny and relaxed! My flowergirl was Nathan's niece (and now my niece!) Isabelle and his nephew James - they're twins and I wish I could share pictures as they were SO CUTE, but I am not comfortable sharing photos of children on here. OK I will stop typing now haha

The posed photos are so awkward haha
I wanted a tea length vintage style dress, and it was impossible to find one in my size so I had it made by a dressmaker! I think it was the complete opposite of what all the bridal magazines said is the "right dress for my body type" but to be honest I don't give a crap about all that. I wanted to wear a dress that made me feel amazing, and I did! I was so amazed by how well the dress turned out, it was perfect. And my hairpiece was worn by my Grandmother on her wedding day, and the horse shoe on my bouquet was hers too - she gave them to my Mum when I was born. They are very special to me, and even though she is no longer with us I know she would have been so happy to see me use them!
My Dad and I - I love this photo

Our first kiss as husband and wife :-x
One of my favourite photos
My bridesmaid and my friend Quincy helped me paint all of these letters - we had lovey dovey words such as 'kiss' and 'love', but we also had some more personal such as 'shiny', which was a nod to one of our favourite TV shows Firefly (I even quoted Serenity in my vows! Neeeeeeeeerd!)
Our cake was lavender and honey flavoured and I just had to have PEZ as the toppers!
Our bonbonniere was PEZ! And I handmade all of them - we did as much DIY as we could
Nathan calls this the "excited Megan face" and apparently I do it a lot
Our first dance was to Cheap Trick's 'If You Want My Love'
It was the most perfect day ever! We didn't have any insanely stressful moments which was really good! We only invited our friends, immediate family, and aunties and uncles as we didn't want a big wedding - we only had around 70 guests. Big weddings are great, but I couldn't imagine having a wedding with 300 people! My favourite photos are the ones of my friends and family dancing, or people laughing or meeting each other for the first time, and having a small wedding made it more intimate.

We went on a cruise for our honeymoon which was the most relaxing thing ever, we lounged around, drank cocktails, and played bingo for 12 days - heaven!

I hope you like the photos, sorry if there are a lot but just be thankful I didn't share all of them haha!
Have a wonderful day,
Megan xo

Friday Fancies

We've had a stressful week here! Noah is sick and now has antibiotics, painkillers, and special cream that we have to give him/slather on him twice a day - he's not happy. And then yesterday Peach (a cat who has never been outside) escaped out of a window! Another cat was outside and she ripped the flyscreen and started fighting the other cat! I had to chase her. Luckily I caught her. Phew. On top of that poor Nathan is sick and I think I have now caught whatever he has, so we both want this week to be over with! Thankfully, pretty things cheer me up...

Sweet & Sara Marshmallows

I am a vegetarian. I still consume eggs and dairy, but do not eat animal flesh (please note I do not care in the slightest what other people eat. I choose to be a vegetarian, some people choose to be vegan, and others choose to eat meat - it's none of my business what you do!). I didn't know what gelatine actually was until I became a vegetarian. It's basically made from all of the left over animal parts that's boiled down into goo and used for all sorts of things, including jelly, lollies, yogurt, ice creams, and a million other things. Since it's made from dead animals, I choose not to eat it (though I know vegetarians that do). I love marshmallows...but they contain gelatine, so I was excited when I found Sweet & Sara vegan marshmallows available in Australia. I've been eating them for a while and place an order every now and then. I received some this week and wanted to share my thoughts!
I ordered 3 different flavours from Uproar, as they are the cheapest I have found. You can get them from other places too, so just have a look around!
I ordered the vanilla marshmallows...
strawberry...
and my favourite, toasted coconut...mmm
These marshmallows are fantastic. Sweet, soft and chewy. You keep them in the fridge and get them to room temperature when you want to eat some (haha, yeah right...waiting til they get to room temperature). There's another brand of vegan marshmallows called Dandies, and they are quite good, but I personally prefer Sweet & Sara as I love the texture and the different flavours. They even have smores marshmallows! If you avoid gelatine, if you are vegan, or if you're allergic to eggs or dairy, I highly recommend Sweet & Sara marshmallows. I'm going to go and eat them all now.
Have a good one!

My Favouirte Magazines

Today I thought I would share my favourite magazines. Most of these I subscribe to so I never miss an issue. I really like magazines, they are great for inspiration for my blog, house and life, and they are also great for photographs to use in my art journals!
First up is Real Living which is an awesome monthly home decor magazine.
Inside are lots of articles, but my favourites part is looking at pretty furniture that I can't afford!
Next up is Green Lifestyle, which is a bi-monthly magazine and as it says on the cover it is a magazine about simple sustainable living. It's really awesome for recipes, environmentally friendly home tips and goods. I really love it.
Awesome recipes! And I love the photography.
As I said in a previous post, I am obsessed with everything about dogs at the moment and I found a subscription to Dogs Life for only $30 and I couldn't say no! It's got some interesting articles but more importantly it is full of photos of cute dogs.
Awwww
Second to last is Peppermint, which is also an eco-friendly magazine full of home decor, fashion, beauty and lovely articles. I look forward to receiving my new issue every two months!
I adore the photography in this magazine, and the paper it's printed on it so nice to flick through.
Finally is Frankie, my absolute favourite magazine. It is a bi-monthly magazine stuffed full of fashion, articles, drawings, cute things, design, craft and a million other things. I love everything about Frankie!
I especially love the calendar you get in each issue which also has something lovely on the back. I think this snoozy peach fits in nicely with my blog!

What are your favourite magazines?
