Friday Fancies

Good morning. Fridays seem to be popping up very quickly lately! I have quite a few fancies this week (and I had to leave a few out because there were too many!).
Wildwood Chronicles Shop
The first two Wildwood books were amazing (and I am reading the third now!). This is a print
of some of the artwork Carson Ellis did for the book. I love this smug looking pipe smoking wolf!
BreadandBadger
Um...I need these
How Sweet Eats
I love me some roasted chickpeas
Cascade Nails
These nail stickers are so pretty, and only $2.80 for 100!

Helen Musselwhite
Sadly this etsy shop is closed right now, but I hope that when she returns
this paper cutout is in the shop because it is gorgeous!

Down That Little Lane
I love succulents and cacti, and this little crocheted cactus is perfect
A Beautiful Mess
This DIY kitty spoon rest is really sweet
YellowTreeStore
Finally, this cruelty free lucky rabbits foot is really cute
(as is everything in this etsy store!)

So that's everything for this week. Have a fantastic weekend

Daily Instax February 12-25

Hello! Here are my daily instax photos from the last two weeks:

Homemade banana cake + recent book purchases
Carrot cake cupcakes for Valentines Day + Amos and his cone getting comfy
Violet waits for Noah to eat and then eats from his bowl, which makes more sense to a cat than eating from another bowl? + burning a candle which makes the whole house smell amazing
Nathan made amazing corn quesadillas + Amos cone free!
Fluffy Peach sleeping + my Mum visited so I made the spare bed - I love fresh sheets
My stalker + vegie chilli (my husband is the best cook and we love Mexican food)
Peach waiting for me + finally going through all of our wedding photos
That's all of them - a few more food photos than usual, and the same amount of pet photos - haha oops! Have a great day

Cork Board Inspiration

I was looking at cork boards online to try to find one that was large enough and wasn't too expensive. I couldn't find one, but then I went to the Reject Shop with my Mum yesterday and I found the perfect size cork board for only $12! I'm going to replace the tiny one I have now after I paint the new one and I am so excited, I've been looking at other peoples cork boards and inspiration boards!
The Dainty Squid
Kaylah from the Dainty Squid is my favourite blogger, I've been reading her blog for years. Just like pretty much everything else in her home, her cork board is amazing. I love the little bunting at the top!
Geninne's Art Blog
I love the little string at the top of this to peg things on to, and the birds are so gorgeous.
Modern Girl Blitz
The two separate cork boards have some pretty neat things stuck to them, and the tiny little shelves are just so cute!
Paper & Stitch
I thought these cork vases were just too cool not to show - a great way to show flowers and to pin stuff!
Modcloth
These cork boards from Modcloth are so cute! Also where is the pug meet up, I want to go to there.
eBay
I think that these googly eye pins would be the perfect addition to any cork board!

So that's all for now. I love these kind of posts on other peoples blogs and thought it might be cool to do one of my own. Have an amazing day

Friday Fancies

Hello! I hope you had a great week, here are some things I found.
BH Cosmetics
I saw this galaxy inspired eyeshadow palette on Tumblr and fell in love. It's so pretty and it's not tested on animals!
Storenvy
I am so excited for Season 2 of Orange is the New Black (June 6!), and I want this shirt.
Transgender Equality
Speaking of OITNB, I love Laverne Cox. She is an amazing person and I just had to share this quote!
joojoo
This would be so sweet in a babies room (or my office)

ASOS
It's been raining a lot here lately and I need a raincoat so I can walk Amos, this would work right?
Ikea
Dreaming of upgrading my desk as it is too small, and I love this one from Ikea! It's so simple.
Modcloth
I really need this for winter!
Design*Sponge
My final fancy is this post on Design*Sponge, a Day in the Life of Carson Ellis. She is an amazing artist and is married to one of my favourite musicians, Colin Meloy. She illustrated his wonderful Wildwood books with the most gorgeous pictures . It was so nice to get a peek into their lives. Also, I just realised maybe I stole the idea for my blog name from Design*Sponge and didn't realise....oops!

That's all for now, have a wonderful weekend

My Favourite Novels

Hello! I thought I would share my top 5 stand alone novels with you. I guess a couple technically have other books after them, but they can be stand alone!
I really like Stephen King novels. He can be spooky and creepy, but at other times he can be serious and funny (he wrote Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption!). The Stand is one of the former, set in a world where 99% of the population has died from a weaponised form of the flu, the survivors fight to survive. This mother flipper is a TOME, my edition has 1421 pages! I love it.
I first read the Hobbit in year 7 (ack 14 years ago) and I was the only person in my class who liked it. Everyone said they thought the songs were stupid, well I think they are amazing and I love everything about The Hobbit. I've read it at least 5 times.
I was in Kinokuniya one day looking at the Penguin Classics,  and an old gentlemen approached me and told me that I should read My Family and Other Animals, that he loved it. I've never had someone do that before and I figured for $10 that I should buy it. This book is gorgeous. It's a autobiographical recount of Gerald Durrell's time living on an island in Greece called Corfu when he was a child with his mother and siblings. He basically just had adventures all day long and adopted animals. There are two other books that he wrote also about his childhood, which I need to read ASAP!  I cannot recommend this book enough.
The Road by Cormac McCarthy is another book set in a post apocalyptic world (it's one of my favourite things to read about), and it's one of the creepiest I have ever read as it was so real. It's about a father and son walking on the road...sounds simple but the struggles they face and the cruel people they meet make this one of the best and scariest books I have ever read.
Ok, Night Watch is technically not a stand alone novel, but it's just so freaking good that I had to include it. There are around 45 million Discworld novels (OK I am exaggerating, but there are 40 and that's heaps!), and the City Watch series is my favourite. In Night Watch, Sam Vimes goes back in time and becomes his younger self's mentor! Sam Vimes is one of my all time favourite characters out of anything EVER and The Discworld series are some of the best books I have ever read and highly highly recommend them if you love British humour.
Oh yeah by the way, my copy of Night Watch is the one I chose for Sir Terry to sign when I met him in 2011...you know...no big deal or nothin'.
Have a great day

Daily Instax January 29 - February 11

It's time for another batch of my daily Instax photos!
On January 29 I got everything ready to make a carrot cake and I broke a bunch of eggs and didn't have any left! Luckily I managed to finish it off the next day and it was pretty damn good.
You can't see it to well, but on the left is a blue tongue lizard! And on the right is a wonderful book I read
One of my best friends left earlier this month to live in Japan for 6 months! We saw Frozen and ate Lord of the Fries together as a farewell. On the left Violet decided that the dogs bed is actually hers.
I bought some new succulents, and on the right I have no idea why I chose to take a photo of this but it was the only chance I had to take a photo on our way home from Camden!
Little fluffy belly on the left and our new canvas of one of my favourite wedding photos (will share some soon)
Our new baby Amos being a sook and Violet sleeping beside his bed...why didn't she sleep on it?
Yeah OK lots of photos of Amos. He had a dewclaw removed before we got him and he kept chewing on it, it got infected and the vet is making him wear the cone of shame until it heals properly. Just like when we got Violet. He looks so sad and cute </3
OK! So that's all for today. I hope you have a good one.
