Happy New Year 2017!

Happy New Year! I'm so excited for this new year and I feel really optimistic! I haven't made any resolutions but I have a list of fun things that I want to do that I will share another day, and I also have a few other goals floating around in my head, but I'm not entirely sure if I want to set them as goals yet! I'll see how I go!
I hope 2017 is amazing for you!

2015 Recap + 2016 Goals

2015 Goal Recap

  1. Sleep better  I didn’t do too well with this goal, I think it’s something I need to work on more
  2. Eat better and cook more – I think I did cook more but the eating better thing didn’t happen unfortunately!
  3. Focus on my blog – I think I did well with this! I was posting consistently so I am happy
  4. Start exercising more – haha nope
  5. Finish my course – not only did I do this but I finished another course and a bridging course! Hells yeah!
  6. Find volunteer work at a vet clinic and get into my vet nurse course – done and done! This is the thing that has made me most proud of myself this year!
  7. Go on regular coffee dates with myself – I did this at the beginning of the year but the last time I did it was probably in March so that’s a fail
  8. Be more organised – done! I was definitely organised this year!
  9. Goodreads challenge - 24 books – Fail. I wasn’t feeling it this year!
  10. Daily instax again – done! YAY!
Overall, I didn't do too badly but there is definite room for improvement! My 2016 goals are pretty similar...

 2016 Goals
  1.  Work hard at TAFE – I really want to do well in my vet nursing course but I have a real problem starting assignments and studying, and this course sounds very difficult and time consuming, so this year I really want to focus on my studies!
  2. Be healthier – this is an all-rounder including sorting out a sleep schedule, exercising more frequently, and improving my diet
  3. Continue being organised – I did well with this in 2015 and I want to improve even more!
  4. Be tidier – I am the worst at keeping our home clean and tidy, and an untidy home really stresses me out so keeping it tidier is going to help me in every part of my life!
  5. Improve our home – this isn’t about keeping it clean, it’s about doing things that need to be done, such as gardening and painting things or fixing things!
  6. Daily instax – for the third year in a row! I love doing this
  7. Goodreads – since I failed so hard last year, I’ve set myself a smaller goal of 12 books
I decided to make less goals than I did last year to make it easier on myself. I also have blog goals and I've chosen a word to guide my 2016 so I will be posting about those soon. Do you have any goals for this year?

Happy New Year 2016!

Happy New Year!

2016! It's here and I cannot believe it! I have a lot of plans for this year, but for now here are some things that happened in 2015...
  • I finished Certificate II Animal Studies
  • I started and completed Certificate III Animal Studies
  • I started working at a vet clinic and was accepted into  Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing (I start in February!)
  • I started a small pet sitting business in October (and I've already had a few bookings and am booked out for January!!)
  • I spent time with amazing friends
I had a pretty awesome year, one of the best parts as always is Nathan who continues to be the most supportive and amazing person in my life! Oh and I took way too many photos of my pets

I hope 2016 is amazing for you! I will be back next week with a 2015 goal recap and 2016 goals post!

Thoughts on 2014

2014 was kind of a crazy year for me, but at the same time I also feel like nothing happened! That's not quite true though, and here's why:
  • I quit uni and started a new course and for the first time EVER I actually have a career plan
  • my Mum was diagnosed with melanoma (she's OK!)
  • a friend had a baby, making her my first friend ever to have a baby!
  • I made new friends, kind of unexpectedly, and I know at least one of them will be lifelong
  • I became a pen pal again, and now have several friends all over the world
  • I stepped out of my comfort zone more
  • I felt better about my body
  • we got a dog! (the best)
Out of all of the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year, I really only stuck to a few of them.
  1. focus on Uni (haha I ended up quitting!)
  2. be healthier (this I will forever struggle with)
  3. get a puppy! Check! We got our baby Amos in February
  4. take an Instax photo a day to document the year  Done! Except those two weeks my camera was broken and I was waiting for a new one!
  5. do the 52 week art journal course I bought from the A Beautiful Mess ladies (oops)
  6. make an effort to be more organised (eep)
  7. spend less money (kind of...I only buy cheap things haha)
  8. read 40 books for my Goodreads 2014 challenge (nope!)
  9. get out of my comfort zone and try new things DONE! I made new friends and tried new things!
  10. keep this blog updated I think I did this! Or at least I started doing it later in the year and am proud of myself for keeping it as updated as I do!
One of the best parts of this year! This gangly goober
I hope you have the best year ever, and I will be back soon with a post about my personal goals for 2015 and possibly a blog/project goal post as well! A New Year is great, so many blogging opportunities!

Happy New Year - 2014!

Happy New Year!
As per usual, how the hell is it a new year already? Here are some things that happened in 2013
  • my step-mother had two baby girls and I go two cutie pie baby sisters!
  • I quit my job and started uni
  • Nathan lost his job (politics!) and started a new one that meant changes, but also good things
  • we got a new cat, Violet, and she makes us laugh every day
  • there were bush fires :(
  • my brother Paul got engaged!
Overall, a good year with a few hiccups but that's to be expected!
Butt head - check out those perfect eyebrow whiskers
Here are my goals for 2014
  1. focus on Uni - I am doing 3 units instead of 4 next semester, so things should be easier!
  2. be healthier - and I don't mean "rah rah must lose weight" because that does not work, but I just mean exercise and actually eat 3 meals a day instead of forgetting to eat lunch, and to start sleeping at a regular time
  3. get a puppy! We are getting our rotting fence replaced with a nice high one, which means we can get a dog FINALLY!
  4. take an Instax photo a day to document the year, which I will hopefully turn into a blog post every two weeks
  5. do the 52 week art journal course I bought from the A Beautiful Mess ladies
  6. make an effort to be more organised
  7. spend less money
  8. read 40 books for my Goodreads 2014 challenge (I failed this year, and I also plan to read more comics so this will help haha)
  9. get out of my comfort zone and try new things
  10. keep this blog updated - this is one I really, really want to do. I love blogging and I've been worried for a while about making quality blog posts about things that might interest other people however I should just blog about what I like. So my plan for PeachSponge is to blog about books, games, stationery, home organisation, my cats, stuff we do and nerdy things - because these are my favourite things!
So, these goals aren't too crazy but my main goal is just to be happy and to do things that make me happy! Sorry for the text heavy post, but here's another photo of a cat to break it up!
Check out that belly fluff

Anyways, I hope you had a great New Years Eve and I hope you have a fantastic 2014!
