What My Self Care Looks Like Lately

It's important to remember to look after yourself, and not just in a "drink water, eat good food, and sleep properly" sort of way, but in a "give yourself a fucking break" way! Incorporating self care into my everyday has become something important to me even though I do struggle with it. I'm trying to be better! Here are a few ways I've been taking care of me lately
The easiest thing I like to do is use a face mask, I always have a little stash in my bathroom. There's something so nice about laying around with one on for 15 minutes and I feel glowy afterward!
Self care also includes taking stupid selfies, obviously!
Sometime self care is eating ice cream with passionfruit butter at 2pm...
Lately I've been enjoying walking through the bush. I take a dog a couple of days a week for a walk and there's a fire trail nearby. I pop a podcast on my headphones and just walk until we reach the end. It's not high intensity or anything, but the fresh air, the smells and the sun make me feel so good.
What kind of self care are you into lately?

My New Accessory

I've wanted to get my septum pierced for YEARS! And finally, I just contacted a piercer who I knew was reputable and had pierced a friend of mine, and make a booking!
Literally 15 minutes after I was pierced
I love it so much! It only hurt a little, and I am so freaking glad I did it. I had been so scared about getting it done, but what's the point of living if you're not going to do the things that scare you a bit!
And a snapchat filter pic of me because I wish my skin was thing flawless in real life!
What's something you really want to do but you're too scared to do it?

5 End of Year Goals

Hello!  I've been neglecting this blog a bit. I still do my twice weekly posts that I always do, but I want to do more. This may take a little time as things in my life have changed drastically in the last few weeks and I wanted to address them.

My husband and I are no longer together, so I am moving out into the world on my own with our cats. I got a new job (still working with animals!) and will continue pet sitting as it's something I've worked so hard on and I've built up a fantastic reputation in my area! I'm moving soonish and will be looking for a roommate (scary!) so I have SO MUCH to do!

I'm starting a whole new chapter of my life so I decided to make a few end of year goals:

  1. Focus on myself
  2. Get rid of/sell my clutter around the house
  3. Make my new home mine once I'm there
  4. Really focus on my pet sitting and try to get new clients
  5. Stay in touch with friends more

Not too difficult really. Everything is so shit and stressful right now so I need to really focus on moving forward and being the best version of me that I can be!
This is pretty much my life - taking selfies with other peoples pets!
So! A lot happening! Sometimes it's really hard but I have the support of my family and friends <3

About Me

Hello! Thank you for checking out my blog! My name's Megan and I'm 30 years old and I live in the Blue Mountains in Australia with my 3 cats! I own my own small business (I'm a pet sitter!) and work part-time at an animal facility (24/7 animals, OK).

I consider myself a total nerd, I love reading fantasy novels and comics, my favourite TV shows are Firefly, Buffy, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Law & Order SVU. I am obsessed with Jurassic Park (best movie ever) and I've watched it at least 40 times, and I am a Harry Potter lover to the core.

I am obsessed with snail mail, stationery, washi tape, polka dots,  PEZ dispensers, food, craft, and trying new things.

I created this blog as a way to share snippets of my life and to make new friends who might share my interests!!

Thank you for stopping by!

Instagram Recap March 2014

Another month has passed us by and I took a lot of photos of cats, as per usual!
Violet's little multi-coloured jellybeans + my future sister in law made this for me haha <3
A comfy way to sleep? + Amos trying to look sad so I give him a treat (it works)
Peach and her fangs + my 13 year old copy of Harry Potter
Cuddling Violet against her will + I didn't feel well so I had a nap and this is what I woke up too <3
Noah is SO CRANKY because of the cone + Violet looking angelic
My new sunglasses case + a shadow gives away why Violet looks so startled
Noah still has his cone on, and will for a little while until his legs are better. He's nearly finished with antibiotics, and seems a bit better which is really good!!

How was your month?

Daily Instax February 26 - March 11

Time again for my daily Instax photos - I actually took a couple in places that aren't my house - what's going on?!

A well balanced lunch includes a cupcake + watching Game of Thrones on a rainy day (started from season 1 again!)
Way too excited about our new fridge + cat socks
I won this from a skill tester! + a croissant that tasted better than the photo would have you believe
Took this very beautiful photo of myself *Fergies glamorous plays* + crafting with red stars
Once again my husband is an excellent cook +  the best juice EVER
I went out for lunch with my Mum and she insisted that she hold up her salad for my photo - she's adorable + 16 pies and 8 sausage rolls (a place half an hour from us makes the best vegetarian pies so we stock up and freeze them for lazy nights)
Peach lounging, I like that her white feet stand out in this photo + Amos chewing in the yard
I am really proud of myself, only one photo of a cat and one of Amos! The last two weeks were pretty good and I am so glad it's stopped raining and I can sometimes feel an Autumn-ish breeze!
Have a good one

Instagram Recap February 2014

I cannot stop laughing at Noah's face (h+ Violet in what she assumed was her new bed <3
I left some shopping bags out and came home and they were all over the house and we couldn't find one of them (we later found it under our bed?) + my first photo of Amos
DYING because of both of these photos - what a goof
Possibly the most terrifying photo of Noah ever, it was the first time he saw Amos through our window + snoozy boy
Violet got scared when Noah ran at her + the best moustache ever!
Playing with Violet + me when I was maybe 11 with our dog Bella in my old dolls bed - she was a good dog
My Mum when she was younger with one of her many cats + soft fluffy little legs
February was pretty good, but I am so excited that Summer is nearly finished. It's cooled down a lot but I think we might have a few more warm days before the amazing Autumn weather kicks in.

Have a wonderful day!
